After Christmas Haul

About a week ago, I took advantage of all of the after christmas sales at my local mall and blew all of my christmas money, but it was definitely worth it. Here is some of the items I bought:

Bath & Body Works
Bath & Body Works was having a major sale! They had a selection of full-size body sprays for $5 as opposed to the regular priced $15 sprays. Naturally, I had to take advantage of this shopportunity.

I have been loving these sprays for years. They smell amazing but aren't as strong as perfume, which is perfect for daytime. I bought one of the new scents Beautiful Day, which smells lovely and reminds me of spring. However, when buying it I didn't realize that it did not fall under the $5 deal because it was new and ended up paying the normal price.

Macy's

For Christmas, I received a new bag and needed a new wallet to match. I was so excited when I found this green Michael Kors wallet. I love the color and it matches the black bag perfectly.

TradeHome

I normally don't shop in this store but they were having amazing markdowns on some of the TOMS. My previous TOMS were very worn, and I needed replacements, so I stopped in and bought a pair for $20 off the normal price.

Pink

Pink was in the midst of its semi-annual sale with affordable prices, I had to browse. I did not really have intentions on buying anything, but I loved the color and fit of this tee. It is perfect for lounging and studying for the new semester.

Forever 21

My final stop was Forever 21. I found a letterman-jacket-inspired cardigan that I absolutely loved, and the detailing on the buttons was one of my favorite features. It was in the sale section and was only $9.99, which was definitely a plus.

I also bought this blue maxi skirt. I have been in search of a mint green maxi skirt in this same kind of flowy material, and while I did not find that, I did like this dark blue one (and its perfect for spring!)

Right now, I am really loving the nautical style, which is quite obvious through my accessory purchases. It reminds me of the water, beach, and sun, which is what I long for during these cold months.

Have a lovely January!

Movie Monday #2

As my break for the holidays nears its end, I reflect on the wonderful movies I saw the past couple of weeks. Some of my favorites are as follows:

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues
Source
With an all-star cast consisting of Will Ferrell, Pau Rudd, Steve Carell, and David Koechner, Ron Burgundy returns in this hilarious sequel to Anchorman. While I have not yet seen the first, this movie was very hilarious and quite strange, particularly during the battle scene. Despite its silliness, I did enjoy the cameos with the likes of Tina Fey, Vince Vaughn, and Drake.

Anna Karenina
Source
Anna Karenina is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum of Anchorman 2. It too had a lovely cast with Keira Knightly, Jude Law, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. The movie told of the rules and expectations of high-society in the late 1800s in Russia, which lead to a tragic ending. Regardless, the dresses featured were simply amazing. Why don't we were gowns like that and hold balls anymore?

Thor: The Dark World
Source
Thor is definitely one of my favorite Avengers. While I did not enjoy the second Thor movie as much as the first (has any sequel ever been better than the original?), I still loved this movie. I quite liked the strong role of women in this movie. Natalie Portman's character was very smart, as she was a physicist, and helped Thor save the universe. This quality is not one usually found in the heroines of modern superhero movies, and it was very refreshing to see.

Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty

Finally, I watched the classic Disney retelling of the popular fairy tale. While I did find many issues with this movie and the actions of the characters, it was still nice to relive my childhood.

As you can see, I watched a wide variety of movies. If it is a good movie, I will watch it, regardless of genre. Have you seen any good films lately?

And remember to "stay classy."

Moroccan Oil

A few weeks ago, I went to the hair salon for a hair cut, and the hair dresser suggested this Moroccan Oil treatment for my frizzy, dry hair. I have been using it since and absolutely love it! I comb two pumps worth through my hair before styling every morning, and it has been keeping my hair soft, frizzless, and shiny. While it was quite costly for a hair treatment, it has been worth it. You can buy it HERE. I would highly suggest it for anyone who wants a soft, shiny mane and needs some oils back in their hair. Its the perfect product for the dry cold air of winter. Just be careful not too overdo it or your hair may look oily.

Have a fabulous friday!

2014 & Reflections of 2013

2013 was such a wonderful, and I was particularly blessed during the year. In early January, I took the annual trip to Florida with my family and some friends for New Years. For spring break, I headed to Utah for some skiing and snowshoeing. In June, I took another trip to Florida; in July, I went on a road trip out East to look at colleges (cities included Baltimore, Washington DC, and Philadelphia) and went on a Scandinavian/Russian Cruise. (I did a post on the latter, which you can read HERE.) Finally ending the year back in Florida for New Years.

Along with these trips, I also started this blog in July! What a wonderful year. I can't wait to see what this new year has in store!

Happy 2014!
