Ode to Fall

Hello, lovelies! I hope you all enjoyed your summer. Today is the first official day of fall! I absolutely love fall, especially getting to wear knits, boots, and scarves. Fall weather is perfect; the trees look gorgeous; and of course, there are new shows premiering!

While I thoroughly enjoy the season, I also miss summer, particularly the amazing movies that came out during that time. I was always headed to the theater over the summer, so I thought I would share with you some of my summer favorites that you should definitely check out if you have not already done so.

Movie ticket stubs from the summer

  • The Internship: Starring Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, and Dylan O'Brien from Teen Wolf, this movie was definitely one of my favorites! It was very funny and had a good story line. Besides, who doesn't like Google?!

  • The Heat: This was another must see! With Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy, it was incredibly hilarious. (May not suitable for younger viewers.)

  • Grown Ups 2: This was a bit of a disappointment after the first one, but what the movie lacked in plot, it made up for with awesome cameos with the likes of The Lonely Island, Taylor Lautner, David Henrie, Aly Michalka, Shaquille O'Neal, Bobby Moynihan, Taran Killam, and Alexander Ludwig and an all-star cast including Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, Salma Hayek, and David Spade!

  • The Croods: When I first heard of this movie, I did not have I hopes, but I was pleasantly surprised! Staring Nicholas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, and Emma Stone, this movie was really good!

  • We're the Millers: This movie was absolutely hilarious! I saw it twice and could not stop laughing either time. Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston, Emma Roberts, and Will Poulter were the perfect actors to play this band of misfits! This is definitely a must see. (May not suitable for younger viewers.)

  • Jobs: Any Apple user will agree that this movie was really good. Ashton Kutcher's portrayal of Steve Jobs was spot on. At the very beginning of the movie, I could not tell it was Ashton Kutcher, and of course, Josh Gad's role made the movie even better. While not as funny as the other movies, Jobs was very inspirational.

  • The Bling Ring: This movie was a very interesting telling of the Hollywood robberies. I quite enjoyed seeing the kids' sides of the story. The idea of wanting the glamourous lifestyle of Hollywood's starlets was relatable, although I am sure most of us would not go to the lengths that Emma Watson's character and her friends went to. It was also interesting to examine the criminal psychology of the characters. (May not be suitable for younger viewers.)

  • Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters: After seeing Percy Jackson & The Lightening Thief, I was looking forward to this movie. It definitely lived up to my expectations! This movie stars Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario, and Brandon T. Jackson and was incredibly suspenseful.

I enjoyed every movie I saw. (If you could not already tell, I am a bit of a movie junkie.) I really want to see Despicable Me 2, The Wolverine, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, and Baggage Claim, among others.

Now is time for fall, which means new premiers!
  • Key & Peele is back for its second season on Comedy Central after a very successful first season! If you have never seen these skits, I highly suggest you watch Substitute Teacher 1 and 3 and the East West Collegiate Bowl.
  • Brooklyn Nine-Nine, starring Andy Samberg, just had a series premiere last Tuesday and airs every Tuesday on FOX. If you like comedy, you will definitely like this show!
  • New Girl has returned for its third season, also on FOX, and is definitely a must see for anyone who loves comedies!
I am also very excited about these premiers that are coming soon:
  • The Vampire Diaries Season 5 in October on the CW
  • Pretty Little Liars Halloween Special in October on ABC Family
  • The Carrie Diaries Season 2 in October on the CW
Have a wonderful fall!
