A week after I returned from Florida, I jetted off to one of my favorite cities in the States...New York! The four days I was there was filled with shopping, exploring various neighborhoods, and eating. I wish I could have stayed longer!
A trip to New York isn't complete without some New York Cheesecake! This one was from a delicious Irish pub!
One night I went to see the Broadway musical If/Then starring Idina Menzel, widely known for her role in Disney's Frozen. This musical was absolutely amazing! Not only was Menzel's voice stunning, but the plot was very compelling, as it presented to possible story lines that resulted a single choice and the chain reaction of this choice.
Of course I had to walk around the Upper East side after strolling through Central Park.
I did some shopping in China Town, mainly for presents. I found the cutest skin care shop and the best bubble tea!
The above bao buns were from a lovely Asian Fusion restaurant close to Time Square and was my last meal in the City.
I know I haven't posted in a long time, and I'm extremely sorry! I have been super busy with working two jobs, preparing for university, spending time with friends before we all go our separate ways, and traveling. With the start of fashion month (first up is New York Fashion Week!), I have been inspired and compelled to begin posting again.
Since summer officially ended two days ago, I have decided to start by posting a multipart travel diary series from my adventures this past summer. Travel diaries are always one of my favorite type of posts to view. I hope you enjoy!
One of the first trips I took this summer was my family's annual trip to Florida!
Over the weekend, I took a trip to Los Angeles! The sun. The food. The shopping! The golden coast is just so picturesque that I had to share some photos from my trip.
Sunnies: Marc Jacobs
Top: RD style
I just bought these sunnies and sweater from the Saks off Fifth, and the merchandise was so reasonable! They were having a great sale: buy 1 get 2 free for clearance items!
This weekend was so lovely! I wish I could have stayed longer. Have a wonderful spring!
While many people use spring as a time for renewal and spring cleaning, I use it as an excuse to shop! Especially with the plethora of events that occur in the spring (prom, graduation, graduation parties, spring break,) I need new clothes!
On Saturday, I went shopping with my mom. We went to one of our favorite stores (Saks Off 5th,) and they were having a major sale (Buy 1 Get 2 Free Clearance!) Of course, I had to take advantage of this amazing opportunity. My mom picked up a few sweaters that I definitely need to borrow, and I bought Michael Kors and Equipment shirts, among others. We arrived to the mall late and had to leave before we could finish shopping. (We only browsed a corner of the store!) I have never actually seen the back of the store because I run out of time before getting there.
It was the perfect opportunity for me to break out my favorite pair of Dolce Vita booties that I had received as a Christmas present!
As the mall was closing, we needed something to do while waiting for our ride. (My dad and brother had taken the car to a hockey game.) We decided to eat at the Rainforest Cafe. I had been there quite a few times as a child, and I forgot how loud it was (even though it was fairly empty because of how late it was). They sat us next to the tigers, which occasionally roared, and the thunderstorms went off every 30 minutes. Regardless, it was nice to relive my childhood and eat somewhere with a little different environment than my usual! The stuffed animals were so adorable!
While eating at the restaurant, "In the Jungle" by the Beach Boys popped into my head. (Yes, I understand there is a difference between rain forests and jungles, but the song seemed appropriate.) This song provided a bit of inspiration for this post.
The following day, we finished up our shopping online! I was able to order the most adorable wedges and graduation dress. (These items, along with those bought in store on Saturday, will be featured in upcoming posts as soon as they arrive!)
Hello, lovelies! In honors of last night's Oscars, I thought I would share some good movies I have seen these last couple of weeks.
That Awkward Moment
Starring Zac Efron and Michael B. Jordan, this movie was hilarious! It was about three friends living in New York and their failed and successful relationships.
Les Misérables
This movie has been getting a lot of hype since its release last year, and I finally had time to watch it. It had a great cast, including Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, and Amanda Seyfried and was set in France in the 1800s. The costumes and the musical score were wonderful. However, I did have a few issues with the movie. It was quite long and slow in some places, and there was barely any dialogue.
Pitch Perfect
Starring Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Skylar Astin, and (my personal favorite) Rebel Wilson, Pitch Perfect is one of my current favorite movies. This had to have been the millionth time I have seen this movie. Not only is this movie funny, but it also has wonderful dialogue that makes for great quoting!
It is hard to believe that it is already March, especially since it is still snowing in my town! With the arrival of Spring comes sunshine, pretty clothing, and Spring Break! This year I am hoping to go on another cruise, and what better way to prepare for a trip than a little shopping. I have been doing some internet-shopping, well wishing really, and I have put together a spread of some of my favorites that are perfect for a warm weather retreat. While I may not be able to purchase these items, it doesn't hurt to dream!
Currently, DSW is having wonderful deals on Sergio Rossi and Ralph Lauren shoes, among others. I would definitely recommend checking those out!
I love pairing a neutral outfit with a burst of color, especially red! And the patterns are a perfect salute to the sun. Last summer, I wore out my gladiator sandals and have been looking for a good replacement, and now I have found a pair!
